When young people picture their future career, world-class manufacturing isn’t always the first thing that springs to mind. Spark Northumberland is on a mission to change that, and our recent visit to Egger is a perfect example of why.
As one of Northumberland’s largest employers, Egger is home to an extraordinary range of careers. From engineering and manufacturing to logistics, technology, and beyond, the site offers exactly the kind of varied, high-quality opportunities that too many young people simply don’t know exist.
We spent time filming with the team to capture the people, the roles and the sheer scale of what happens on their doorstep. The result is content that will help young people across the county see that a genuinely world-class industry is operating right here in Northumberland, and that there’s a place in it for them.
This is at the very heart of what Spark Northumberland is designed to do. By putting real employers and real career pathways in front of young people, we’re helping to close the gap between the opportunities that exist and the young people who could one day fill them.
