Ask a young person what a career in the NHS looks like, and many will picture doctors and nurses. But the reality is far bigger and far more exciting. That’s exactly the story we set out to tell with our latest Spark Northumberland employer feature.
We were privileged to spend time filming with Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, one of the county’s largest employers and home to hundreds of different career paths. From nursing and clinical roles to technology, administration, catering, estates and so much more, the Trust is a powerful reminder that a career in healthcare is about far more than people often realise.
For young people across Northumberland, seeing that breadth of opportunity, and meeting the real people doing those jobs, can be genuinely eye-opening. It opens minds to possibilities they may never have considered, and shows them that whatever their interests or strengths, there could be a place for them in one of the county’s most vital employers.
